N2  -  Summary. The drug therapy for type 2 diabetes patients: from algorhithms to personalization. A general overview of the available treatments for diabetes is presented. A personalized treatment, however difficult to implement due to the decline of the beta cells, is the recommended approach to reach the glycemic targets. A list of the therapeutic options, with advantages and disadvantages of the different drugs is presented and discussed, considering the latest available evidences and studies.
