N2  -  Summary. The mobile boundaries of health professions. The article highlights the logic and mechanisms of interprofessional relations in healthcare. After a brief overlook of the historical development of the nursing profession a closer focus of the more recent development occurred in the last century is presented. The decelopment of the nursing profession is entwined with the boundaries of other professions, namely the physicians. The need and importance of professional strategies as well as the impact of managerialism in the healthcare division of labour is briefly analysed. The need for a new model of professionalism is stressed, in order to deal with societal and healthcare changes.
